It feels like I posted the article about New Year’s resolution not too long ago, but the time really flew. Now the summer is almost over. Are you still keeping up with your diet plan you made at the beginning of the year?  If you are, great! Keep it up! If you are not, do not wait for January to plan for your diet. Fall is a perfect season for diet and fitness. Do not even wait for September. Be ambitious! Get a head-start today by planning your diet and fitness. Here is a list of things to consider as you plan.

1. Eat Healthy – BBQ season is over. At least for you. If you have indulged yourself in savoury meats and sweets during this summer, now you should start eating healthy again. Control your appetite and start training your body. Try to limit your daily carbohydrate consumption. Once a week you may touch some of your cookies and cupcakes but for the others six days, do not even look at them.

     2. Get out of the house – Fall provides us a perfect environment to do some outdoor exercises. The temperature starts to drop and you can feel some cool gentle air as you go outside. So, do not stay in the house. Put your sneakers on and get out. Take a brisk walk for half an hour. You will feel amazing!

     3. Look for other options – Going to a gym and running on a treadmill isn’t the only option you have for your fitness. Check out for Yoga, Pilates, Kick-boxing and other martial arts classes! They are not only good for burning calories, but fun! Each class has its own time, so you need to incorporate it with your daily schedule. It will help you exercise consistently on a daily basis.

     4. Rearrange your office – Do you have a job that makes you sit for almost the entire time you are at work? Clean and rearrange your office so that you may have some space to do some simple exercises. You may have heard that sitting too long is not good for your health. It is indeed really bad, perhaps much worse than you may think. Move around or at least stand up for a couple of minutes every hour if possible.

     5. Breakfast is important – Have you seen any diet plan without breakfast? If you are not eating breakfast, please start eating it today. Eat something that has a lot of fiber and vitamins. Eat more in the morning and less in the evening. You can certainly shed some pounds just by changing your eating habit.

You don’t need to wait for January. Just as schools start their new year in September, make this season your personal new year with a new resolution and plan for your fitness.
