Healing teenage anxiety through meditation

BOS Meditation for Teenagers and Young Adults (ages 16-28)

Heal your emotional burdens…
Discover your inner potential…
Live a truly inspirational life.

What is BOS Meditation for Teenagers?

Today’s generation of teenagers and young adults are becoming overwhelmed by stress, pressures and outside influences absent from many years ago. Unfortunately, this demographic is ill equipped to navigate through the troubled waters they face. They often seek an unhealthy solution to ease their anxieties – causing physical and emotional damage that many times is irreparable.

But it is possible to find positive and effective ways to calm the mind and look within to discover a plan of action fully aligned with their true potential, their dreams and their overall well-being. It’s called BOS Meditation for Teenagers and Young Adults.

BOS Meditation is a program meant to teach the younger generation how to utilize their infinite potential in ways that are healthy, encouraging and constructive for their physical and emotional well-being – leading them down a path for a successful life.

If young people would devote a small portion of their time to learn these life-changing tools and techniques at this stage of the game, they’d find themselves on track for greater academic achievement, successful relationships and a life filled with genuine happiness.

This program is an opportunity to prevent the harmful choices so many make, which often impact the rest of their lives in ways they never imagined – leading to unfulfillment, unhappiness and a life void of any real meaning.

It’s time to make the choice to heal your emotional burdens, discover your inner potential and live a truly inspirational life.

Give CGI a call for more details on how you can get started at 201-784-5575.

 Program Details:
A small group meets weekly for training and discussion.
Physical training and meditation create a kind of “daily homework” to aid the process of healing
     and self-discovery.
Life and energy principles are learned and applied in daily life.

Half the battle of healing is wanting to

by Louise Jensen, The Happy Startfish

A subject close to my heart is chronic illness and pain, and natural methods we can use for coping with disabling conditions - be it dietary changes, herbal supplementation, relaxation and exercise techniques, as well as exploring the mind/body connection to ease emotional stress.

It was with interest then that I read an article today in the Daily Mail promoting a new book by a physiotherapist stating that emotional tension is “almost always the cause of chronic pain”.  The physiotherapist then explains that in the case of back pain, even if you have structural abnormalities that show up in x-rays and scans, these don’t necessarily cause any physical pain.

It is widely recognized that when pain makes the transition between acute (short-term) and chronic (long-term) psychological factors enter the equation. With an estimated 65 million Americans developing chronic back pain each year (half of which is disabling) there seem to be mainly two camps. There are those who believe pain comes from structural faults and those who believe that the mind manifests pain in a very real, physical way.

Personally I don’t hold with either of those views. I have sustained structural damage to my pelvis, spine and discs that cannot be undone and as a consequence I am in pain everyday (camp one would agree with this).  However, when I am under increased pressure and emotional stress my pain levels can more than double (camp two would verify that emotions are causing my pain).

We need to recognize the mind and body as being more intricately interrelated than we can fully understand at this moment in time and source therapists who offer treatments that are a correlation of emotional and structural techniques.

"Half the battle of healing is wanting to."

Join the Barefoot Revolution!

Helping you understand the benefits of re-connecting

with the Earth.

Research reveals that Earthing can-

  1. Improve Energy
  2. Enhance Recovery
  3. Improve Sleep
  4. Relieve Muscle Tension
  5. Reduce Stress
  6. Restore Normal Biological Rhythms

The concept of Earthing TM is easy to
understand when you can visualize it.
The above illustration shows “Mr. Barefoot” and
“Mr. Shoes”. It illustrates how Mr. Shoes (left), even when
he is outside in the fresh air is insulated from the Earth
and unable to receive the free electrons and balancing
frequencies our bodies have become accustomed to.
Mr. Barefoot(right), in direct contact with the earth is
connected with a steady flow of free electrons and other
balancing frequencies that the Earth provides.

“Why Am I Hitting Myself?”
Tapping the Body for Optimal Health

Our brain is essentially a chemical factory.  We experience emotions, from depression to joy and ecstasy, according to the neurotransmitters and hormones released from our brain and active in our body’s systems.
So if feeling positive, happy, and healthy are chemical processes, what would your life be like if you could acutely control them?  What if you could release the exact kind of chemicals from your brain and body into your system when you wanted?

Tapping and vibration are essentially tools to achieve such a state.

Tapping increases blood flow through the veins and arteries.  Just because you move your body a lot doesn’t mean you have a healthy circulatory system.  Ever gone for a run, but your hands and feet are still cold?  That means blood didn’t circulate completely through your body.
Tapping helps circulate lymph through the body, keeping blood circulation healthy and the immune system strong.
Tapping also stimulates the bones and bone marrow.  Blood cells are created in the bone marrow.  If your bones are weak, they cannot produce blood cells well and cannot generate healthy blood.  Thus, tapping can also help prevent osteoporosis.

Why not come and experience the benefits yourself?  We do tapping exercise in all of Tao Wellness Center’s basic classes, and especially in our Brain Wave Vibration class.
See you there!

“How the Gut’s “Second Brain” Influences Mood and Well-Being

The network of neurons lining our guts is so expensive some scientists have nicknamed it our “second brain.”
This little brain partly determines our mental state and plays key roles in certain diseases throughout the body.
About 90% of the fibers in the primary visceral nerve, the vagus, carry information from the gut to the brain and not the other way around.
A big part of our emotions are probably influenced by the nerves in our gut.
Everyday emotional well-being may rely on messages from the “brain below” to the “brain above.”
Irritable bowel syndrome, which afflicts more than 2 million Americans, also arises in part from too much serotonin in our entrails, and could perhaps be regarded as a “mental illness” of the second brain.
A drug that inhibited the release of serotonin from the gut counteracted the bone-detonating disease osteoporosis in postmenopausal rodents.

Serotonin seeping from the “second brain” might even play some part in autism, the developmental disorder often first noticed in early childhood.
Some scientists think that in coming years psychiatry will need to expand to treat the second brain in addition to the one atop the shoulders.
